Extra-Curricular

At our school, our vision is built around three core values: Community, Collaboration and Creation. These values are lived every day through the wide range of clubs, societies, sports teams, musical groups and leadership opportunities available to our students. We believe that education is about much more than academic success. It is about helping every young person discover their strengths, develop their confidence and find a place where they truly belong.

Our extra-curricular programme is a vital part of school life and plays an essential role in building the strong, inclusive community that we are proud of. Through sports, music, student leadership, academic clubs and special interest groups, students have opportunities to explore talents and passions that extend beyond the classroom. Whether they are competing on a sports team, performing with our choir or school bands, participating in Model United Nations, developing new skills through STEM, contributing to the school magazine, or enjoying activities such as chess, history or musical theatre, students are encouraged to challenge themselves, try new experiences and grow as individuals.

These activities embody our value of Collaboration by bringing together students from different year groups, backgrounds and interests. Clubs and societies create opportunities for students to make new friends, work with peers outside their regular classes and build positive relationships with teachers. They help students to develop leadership, communication, teamwork and organisational skills that will benefit them throughout their lives.

We are particularly proud of our culture of student voice and student leadership. Many of our clubs and societies have begun with an idea from a student. If there is an interest that is not yet represented, we encourage students to take the initiative and establish a new club with the support of a teacher. Over the years, students have created a wide variety of groups, including computer gaming clubs, Star Wars clubs and make-up clubs. We want every student to know that their interests, talents and ideas matter and that they can play an active role in shaping our school community.

The value of Creation can be seen in the ambition, creativity and dedication that students bring to these activities. Despite being a developing school, our students have achieved remarkable success at regional, county and national level across a wide range of activities. We proudly celebrate these achievements while also recognising something equally important: the commitment of students who participate regularly, support their teammates and peers, step outside their comfort zones and contribute positively to school life.

Above all, our clubs, societies and teams help create a school where every student feels known, valued and connected. They are central to the spirit of our school and to our ambition that every young person has the opportunity to discover their potential, contribute to their community and thrive.
